Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance details
Dear Metropolitan Police Service (MPS),
I'm doing some academic research into the checks, balances and accountability of European public bodies. One area I'm researching is whether public bodies have adequate insurance for the roles they fulfill.
Could you please provide details of your Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance agent along with a scanned copy of the certificate(s) and the policy booklet containing the terms and conditions of the policy.
I see from official figures that you have 31,478 sworn officers and 3,831 non-sworn officers known as Police Community Support Officers. No doubt the policy terms would be different for these two classes of officer so could you please provide the policy details for both a sworn and non-sworn officer for comparison.
Yours faithfully,
Maik Faye
